Ann Turkel is still struggling in a state of denial over the death of her former husband, Richard Harris. Turkel was born into an ethnically Jewish family and raised by the mother of her child in Manhattan. It was while performing with her band in an evening of fashion shows when Ann was spotted through Gloria Schiff an editor at Vogue Magazine. In less than a week and a half, the editor-in-chief Diana Vreeland commissioned Ann to shoot the debut Vogue Cover, along with photographer Richard Avedon. In the following weeks, Ann became one of the most sought after models in the United States, appearing on the covers of the top fashion magazines including Vogue Bazaar and Cosmopolitan among several others. Ann started her modeling career for Max Factor Revlon in Europe and Japan in the fashion houses of Max Factor Revlon as well as Chanel after two successful years.
